Just dropping by…

April 17, 2013 § 3 Comments

Hello everybody!  I know it’s been a good, long while, but I just wanted to drop by to say hello.  Thank you to the many people who have written me kind comments, messages, or emails to check in– I apologize for the long absence, but it does mean so much to me.  I guess I have not officially written about it on the blog, but the reason for my absence is that this academic year I made the big decision to go back to graduate school.  It’s an extremely demanding program and there are definitely days when I miss– well, my life– but I am confident that it will pay off in the end.  Between caring for the birds and focusing on school, I’ve little time for anything else, but I do miss you all!

My two beauties are doing well.  Lola is the chattiest little girl and has been handling my being away so well.  Every morning when I leave, she gives me kisses and says, “Bye bye!  Be good okay??  I love you so much!”  Then she imitates the noise of my very squeaky door as it closes.  It kills me to leave her every morning when she’s so darn adorable, but she’s so mature about it!  She’s also become quite the avid dancer.  Sabrina is doing well too.  She and I both went through a long period of mourning after Charles passed, and she stopped singing for quite a while, but her beautiful chirping is back as is her healthy appetite, so I’m happy about that.  There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t both think about him, but I know he’s in a better place now.

In any case, I will try to upload a few photos soon, although I can’t promise regular updates.  The first year of my program is almost done, but I’ve two more long years to go.  I will, however, try to respond to comments more quickly, or please feel free to get in touch with me via Facebook (there’s a link on the right hand sidebar).  I would absolutely love to hear how all of you are doing in the comments or via a message.  All my best!
